Backflow prevention assemblies required by City Code 1113.01 and Department of Public Utilities Rule and Regulation 23-02 must be tested at least every 12 months. Failed devices must be repaired within 21 days. Non-compliance may result in termination of water service.
Backflow prevention assemblies required by local plumbing code must be tested annually according to Ohio Administrative Code 4101:3-3-01, Section 312.10.2 Testing. Not all backflow preventers required by plumbing code are tracked by the Division of Water.
